The Most Festive Dance in Town! Feeling in need of some festive cheer? You’re not alone! Mark your calendars for Saturday 6th December 2025, when Woolston Community Centre hosts its beloved annual Christmas Party Dance—a perfect way to kick off the season with joy and great music. We’re thrilled to welcome back local legends The Rockafellas, whose toe-tapping blend of 60s rock 'n' roll and pop classics will have you dancing the night away—or simply swaying along with a mince pie in hand. Free mince pies will be served, but please bring your own drinks and snacks—along with bottle openers and glasses! As always, we kindly ask that you take everything (and everyone!) home with you at the end of the night. Don't miss our ever-popular raffle, featuring fantastic prizes, and put your festive knowledge to the test in the Christmas Quiz—with a delicious prize for the winner! Tickets are priced at £8 for WCA members, £9 for non-members, and must be purchased in advance--no tickets will be sold on the night. Please note: no under-15s permitted. Doors open at 7:30pm. Tickets will be available from 31st October 2025 (or shortly thereafter). Community garden volunteers needed:
The Community Centre garden mainly features mature shrubs with a wide range of foliage colours, which along with some hardy flowering plants provide a colourful display all year round. Congratulations to all of the garden team for the amazing transformation of a derelict space at the community centre. This was due in no small part to the enthusiasm of founder team member Ray Sturgess, who sadly passed away in 2022. A plaque in his memory was presented to his family and is displayed on the back wall, which borders the house he lived in.
