Volunteers needed:
The Community Centre garden features mature shrubs and an ever changing variety of flowers, giving a colourful display all year round. Congratulations to all of the garden team for the amazing transformation of a derelict space and special thanks to Ray Sturgess* (aka the king of the plants) who spent many hours selecting and providing just the right varieties of plants to suit the seasons. If you would like to volunteer to help with the upkeep of this garden please email: [email protected] Sadly, we must record the news that Ray passed away on 10th August 2022 after a long struggle with illness. His efforts since the establishment of the community garden are the stuff of legend and his presence will be sorely missed.
A plaque is now in place on the garden wall, to mark Ray's dedicated and tireless contribution to this project.
